In 2003, two friends decided to pool their money and buy a Gammill longarm so they could start quilting the quilt tops hanging in their respective closets, along with a few quilts from friends. We all know how that works. Neither one of us got to quilt many of our own quilts. In 2005 we relocated from Sandpoint to Bonners Ferry, and slowly started adding a few fabrics, mostly wide backs. A couple of years later, we purchased a second longarm, found a larger space, and just HAD to add additional fabrics. When my friend moved a little South in 2013, I became full owner and, after a contest, the shop was renamed to “A Little Comfort Quilting”. Two years ago, I moved into the space I now occupy and have just a tad more fabric and tools. I still longarm for people but, yes, a lot of my own quilts are still hanging in the closet. Some day. In the meantime, I love being in this shop and getting to meet so many quilters from around the world, from New Zealand, England, Russia, the women from Chili (riding their motorcycles who just had to get that Route66 fabric), and just about every state in the U.S. Stop in when you’re in the area. I’d love to meet you.
